Ms Mala Maniyan, former CEO of Seventh Channel Communications, is now the COO of Raj Television Network. She was associated with Seventh Channel Communications, an established production house for television programmes in Chennai, for nearly 25 years. She has launched about 100 programmes on TV that have had a huge impact. Recently she has bringing in a lot of changes in Raj TV with a new range of television shows like Beach girls, Isai café, etc.

Season 1:

Auditions will happen in Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Madurai, Hyderabad, Palakkad, and Malaysia. The auditions will happen among colleges, dance schools and theatre groups as prelims and the final auditions will happen with a panel of judges from the industry and 10 contestants will be selected in from each city.

10 participants from 7 cities will undergo a workshop conducted by renowned theatre groups and film personalities. And 40 will be picked based on their interest and involved flair for acting.

Season 2:

The selected 40 participants will be put on stage for a performance to check their confidence by a panel of judges. 30 will be picked. The 30 contestants with the flair for acting, confidence and good looks will move on to season 3.

Season 3:

This stage is when we build the confidence, crush their ego and develop the quality of discipline in each participant.

Military/Police Academy Training:

The 30 participants from different cities will now undergo training in the police/military camp to build their endurance, discipline and punctuality. The reason behind this training is the in the industry every artist is expected to be disciplined and maintain punctuality. The contestants need to have what it takes to climb a mountain and roll down stairs. The participants will be trained in all possible aspects to make them understand the difficulties involved in being a shining star. 20 will be handpicked and given a ticket to Malaysia.

Season 5:

The selected 20 contestants will be trained in acting, personality development and will be groomed to be an actress with few days of hardship in Malaysia with different film personalities.

The groomed 20 participants will perform on stage in Chennai in front of the Tamil Film fraternity. From which the best 5 will be picked. They will be given an opportunity to audition with Top 10 Tamil Film directors.

The auditions will be held on 5, 6, 7 September while the shortlisted finalist for Malaysian participants is on 8 September 2012.
