As
the demand for quality within in the Indian entertainment
industry increases, we need to constantly give and develop
opportunities for new
talents. To be unearthed, Maras Vision and Passage
Thru India are jointly organized "Colours
of Kranam", a weekly mega star search competition and
traditional Indian buffet dinner extravaganza.
"Colours
of Kranam" was chosen as the title for this event because
of the significance of the word and its relation to the Indian
community itself.
"Colours"
refers to the representation of the multiplicity of festivals
celebrated by the Indian community, which mainly comprises
of four ethnic groups, namely Tamilans, Telegus, Malayalees
and Punjabis .
Although there are four groups in the Hindu religion whom
separately celebrate their own festivals, which are "Onam",
"Vasaki" and "Ugathi", they all come together
as one in the celebration of "Deepavali", which
translates as the "Festival of Lights". "Kranam"
represents "Sunrise" which complies with the Indian
community by its various colourful celebrations. "Colours
of Kranam" in its full glory then signifies the brightness;
colorfulness and the variety of the Indian community and the
merging of the "Colours Of Kranam" portray the pride
of its community in this competition.
Effective
from the 21st of June 2003, "Colours of Kranam"
will be broadcast as a TV show. All the weekly winners from
"Colours of Kranam" weekly contest will take part
